The capital of India is testament to India's spiritual history where people professing various religions have been doing so in unison for centuries. Home to famous Hindu Temples like ISKCON and Akshardham temple, the biggest mosque in India, Jama Masjid and many churches that dot its land, New Delhi offers an insight into what lies ahead. Part of the Golden Triangle leg of this tour, your journey takes you to the towering forts and sprawling bazaars of Jaipur finishing off with the majestic view of the Taj Mahal in Agra. The journey culminates in India's holiest city, Varanasi. Continuously inhabited since 2000 BCE, Varanasi is the spiritual capital of India. Not for the faint-hearted, rituals of life and death take place on the ghats surrounding the holy river Ganga.

Day 1 - 80 Kms
Namaste, the capital of India welcomes you. Home to a staggering 25 million people and history dating back to 3500 BC, expect an intoxicating ride of spice, colour, history and culture on this journey. The best way to experience Delhi is in the comfort of your car. You can choose a pick up from the airport and transfer to your hotel or decide on meeting your VAYU chauffeur directly at your hotel. Use the day to take in the sights and learn their stories. Suggested Activities: Visit Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Old Delhi. Checkout Humayun's Tomb and Khan Market.
Day 2 - 80 Kms
Get ready to really explore Delhi today. After a wholesome breakfast, we suggest engaging your VAYU chauffeur in steering you to the best that Delhi has to offer. Visit Delhi's UNESCO World Heritage Sites and other hidden gems of the city; practice your haggling skills at the local bazaars for traditional Indian handicrafts. Later, satiate your hunger with authentic Indian dishes. Your VAYU chauffeur is full of great suggestions about things to do in Delhi and is at your disposal whenever needed. Day 3 - 300 Kms
Delhi to Jaipur
Bid farewell to Delhi today as you make way to the 'Land of Palaces', Jaipur. Famously known as the 'Pink City', Jaipur is a vibrant, up and coming metropolis embraced by history and the finest forts and palaces India has to offer. After you have checked in at your hotel, feel free to explore the city with your VAYU chauffeur at your own pace. Suggested Activities: Visit Royal City Palace. A photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).
Day 4 - 80 Kms
Acquaint yourself with the Pink City today. Once you have covered the major attractions in Jaipur indulge in local shopping at Johri Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar that are famous for authentic Jaipur jewellery, clothes and footwear. You might want ask your VAYU chauffeur for the best things to do in Jaipur. Suggested Activities: Jaigarh Fort, Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort.
Day 5 - 240 Kms
Jaipur to Agra
Taj Mahal, here we come! Next stop on our mystic India journey is Agra, home to one of the most beautiful architectural structures known to man. After your check in at your hotel in Agra, visit the famous and majestic Red Fort, followed by the romantic Taj Mahal at sunset.
Day 6 - 260 Kms
Agra to Orchha via Gwalior
Post breakfast we leave for Orchha via Gwalior. A historic city, Gwalior is famed for its outstanding palaces, sacred temples and glorious monuments. Described as "A pearl among the fortresses of the hind" by Mughal emperor Babur, Gwalior Fort is one of the biggest forts in India. We continue to Orchha, a medieval city placed on the banks of river Betwa which literally means 'hidden place'.
Day 7 - 180 Kms
Orchha to Khajuraho
Spend the day visiting Orchha's beautiful Fort complex. The fort is reached by an arched bridge and the three palaces set in an open courtyard within the fort are the first buildings to explore. The tiered Jahangir Mahal was built in 1606 to commemorate the visit of Emperor Jahangir. The Raj Mahal, to the right of the courtyard, was built by Madhukar Shah and has bold colourful murals inside. The third palace is the Rai Praveen Mahal, which is a two storey brick structure set in the gardens of Anand Mahal. This town is also famous for its temples built in the 16th and 17th centuries which are known for their elegant architecture and their unique sequential development of domes, brackets, pillars, arches and ledges. These temples are a remarkable example of Bundela art. Ram Raja Temple is well known among the temples in the complex. Later, drive towards Khajuraho. Situated in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh, the town of Khajuraho is famous for its imperial temples. On arrival, explore the city at your own pace.
Day 8 - 300 Kms
Khajuraho to Allahabad
In the morning, visit the famous Khajuraho Temples. One of the most popular tourist destinations in India, Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculptures. A major highlight on this journey, the Khajuraho group of monuments are listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you are done temple hopping in Khajuraho, your VAYU chauffeur is going to take you on a 6-hour drive to the second-oldest city in India, Allahabad. Catch up on some sleep and stock up on a few books for the way.
Day 9 - 130 Kms
Allahabad to Varanasi
It is here that India's holiest rivers, Ganga and Yamuna meet one of Hinduism's most mythical rivers, the Saraswati. Take a boat ride in the morning to the sacred confluence of rivers and around the corner from there visit Saraswati Ghat and Nehru Ghat (neither of which are as impressive as what is to come in Varanasi). If you are feeling adventurous, according to Hinduism, a dip in the waters here is said to flush away all of your sins and free you from the cycle of rebirth. Re-supply and head for the final destination on this mystic journey, Varanasi. Situated on the banks of River Ganges, Varanasi is the most popular pilgrimage point for Hindus. Suggested Activities: Visit Akbar Fort in Allahabad. Boat ride to Sangam in Allahabad.
Day 10 - 80 Kms
Thousands of people from around the world visit Varanasi each year seeking a spiritual experience. Start your day with a morning boat ride on the Ganges across the Ghats (a series of steps leading down to Ganga river, which are used for performing ceremonies). In the day visit the temples and Ghats followed by an evening Ganges Aarti - it is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a form of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities. Suggested Activities: Morning boat ride on river Ganga. Visit Dashashwamedh Ghat for evening Ganges Aarti ceremony.
Day 11 - 80 Kms
India exemplifies an incredible dichotomy of a laid-back attitude in a land of chaos. Love it or hate it (most people love it), India is bound to leave a lasting impression on you. There is nothing planned for this day, check out from your hotel as per your convenience and depart for the airport.
